The Reverend Robert Stammers, Quorndon’s Vicar, an extraordinary 55-year ministry

The Reverend Robert Stammers was the perpetual curate/vicar of Quorn from 1832 to 1888. The article below was written by Dennis Marchant and covers not only the life of Robert Stammers, but also changes in the church and village during his long incumbency at St Bartholomew’s. The Rev Stammers was a forceful character of firm views and was often controversial - Dennis explores both sides of his character.

The attached article does not necessarily reflect the views of the Museum Team.
