The pdf file below is the programme for the opening day of Quorn Swimming Pool on 11th May 1974.
The idea for a village swimming pool that could be used by the schools and the community, was first muted at a public meeting in 1970. A committee was formed in 1971 and local organisations and individuals all contributed to the cost of the pool. Many fund raising events took place and continued to raise money to later add a roof.
The swimming pool was located within Rawlins' school grounds, where the Deep End is now. There was much sadness and disappointment when in 2012 the decision was taken to close the pool.
