Quorn Lodge

Quorn Lodge was situated on the A6, beyond One Ash, just before the (old) left turn to Woodthorpe. It burnt down and the remains were demolished in 1938.

In the mid 1800s, Quorn Lodge was the home of the Hole family. Henry Hole lived there most of his life and inherited the property when his mother died in 1883. The 1881 census records him there with his wife Mary and two children, Charles and Hubert. On a census return in 1891, Henry was declared as ‘paralysed’, and died in 1894 aged only 52. Mary later married Christopher Theophilus Parker and continued to live in Quorn Lodge.
