Howlett's Bus Company

The photograph below shows a 14 seater Reo bus, which was put into service in the 1920s. This is believed to be the bus they called the bus 'My Fancy' and Phyllis Field (nee Broom), who rode on it as a child, tells us that it was dark red.

John Bennett provided additional details about the vehicle:
NR 7181 Reo Speed Wagon chassis number 120913, new July 1925. The body was by Willowbrook of Loughborough and was fitted in 1928. It had fourteen seats and a front entrance.

This bus was destroyed in an accident in October 1930, which was reported in the Loughborough Echo. See Artefact 1300.
