WW2 82nd Airborne Paratroopers stationed in Quorn in 1944 with British civilians discussing the merits of ale at the Pear Tree Inn, Woodhouse Eaves, 1944. The person in the foreground with the cigarette is the landlord, Mr Walker. He was well known for his nose, which used to wobble!

His successor as landlord was Les Walker who was is believed to be his son in law and kept the pub up to the 1960s.
