Tom Firr outside Charnwood House, Leicester Road
Now part of Quorn County Hotel. Among the previous residents was Thomas Firr (1846-1902) who was Huntsman between 1871 and 1899. Tom Firr was a local celebrity and his hunting exploits were often reported in the local papers:
Loughborough Advertiser - Thursday December 9th 1880:
"On Saturday last whilst out with the Quorn hounds, Mr Tom Firr, head huntsman had a fall from his horse and was somewhat severely, though it is hoped not seriously, shaken. He was conveyed to his home in Quorndon and it was hoped he would soon recover from the shock".
