Station Road, Quorn, 1905
On the left is a very old cruck constructed building that was sadly demolished and replaced by modern shops in the 1960s. It had formerly belonged to the Farnham family, housed a public library and had been a convent. The church-like windows can be seen on the first floor. At this time (about 1905) the building belonged to the Facer family and was run as a furniture and hardware store.
To the right is Quorn Co-operative Society store (now Bradleys, 2025) and to the left of the walk up to the Church, can be seen two very small old cottages.
This unique and excellent quality photograph was taken by Richard Tunnecliffe (see Artefact 2614) in 1905 and is part of a collection that had previously not seen the light of day for over 100 years
