Quorn Home Guard, Loughborough Road, 1942
The older photograph was taken in October 1942. The three men belong to Quorn Home Guard and are taking part in an training exercise involving smoke bombs.
The location is 29 Loughborough Road, at the corner with Barrow Road. The house used to be known as Bleak House, and for many years was home to the Inglesant family. In the early 1930s it became a bakery and the family home of Harry Bonser and his wife.
The modern photograph shows that it looks very different today.
