Silver rose bowl, presented to George White of Quorn, 1919
George White was a very well-known Quorn figure. His main job was a solicitor’s clerk at Woolley, Beardsley and Bosworth Solicitors in Loughborough, a position he held for over 50 years. However he was also Clerk to Quorndon Urban District Council, secretary to Quorn Building Society, a house agent and a property developer. He lived with his family at Rose Cottage on Loughborough Road, which was situated on a plot which is now occupied by houses numbered 21, 21a and 21b.
The bowl is inscribed:
Presented to Mr George White by Woolley, Beardsley and Bosworth Solicitors, Loughborough, as a token of their appreciation of his services during a period of fifty years in the firms employ
25th January 1869 ... 25th January 1919
