Picture by W E Cooke – Farm Yard at Quorndon

The exact location of this farmyard is unfortunately not known, although it is in Quorn somewhere. The picture is likely to date between 1870 and 1900.

W E Cooke was a local professional artist who lived at Brook House (where Hall Leys now is). He married Alice Moore from Quorn in the first quarter of 1872. The 1891 census shows them living in Brook House, Quorn with their eleven children.
