The Elms, Quorn
This house was known as The Elms when the photograph below was taken in 1916. At this time it was occupied by Alfred Tyler, his wife Ruby, their young daughter Honor and one or two servants.
It is now number 6 Dower House Gardens and was originally a Victorian extension to the old Dower House which belonged to the Farnham family. The house was later extended and used as halls of residence for Loughborough College of Education. Dower House Gardens was built in the 1970s.
Thanks to Alyce Oblad (nee Ford), who was born in the 1980s and was brought up in this house. Alyce now lives in Texas.
