Opening of Fish & Chip shop - 1968
12th January 1968 – Loughborough Echo
Quorn Fish and Chip shop
Tuesday of this week saw the opening of a new fish and chip shop at Quorn, “The Quorn Fryer.” The shop, situated in Station-road, is owned by Mr Dave Walker and will sell both wet and fried fish. This is his first attempt at such a venture and he was previously employed as a floorlayer. Mr Walker (29) who comes from Leicester, is married and has one child.
Quorn already has one fish and chip shop, owned by Mr J Dockray, on the Cross.
Several people have confirmed that Dave Walker's fish and chip shop was where the Post Office is today (2011), ie 14 Station Road. This included one lady who worked there!
