Caves Field, Quorn, ridge and furrow 2022

This photograph of Caves Field (the cricket field), taken during the heatwave of August 2022, shows the remains of old ‘ridge and furrow’, with green grass in the furrows. If ridge and furrow is visible, it means that the field has not been ploughed, ie has been used for pasture, since mediaeval times.
